Current Obsession: The Black Strappy Sandal

Since the weather has started getting a bit warmer here, my mind has stopped focusing on closed toe shoes and turning to the strappy heel. More precisely, black strappy sandals.

Of these, my favorites are the Zara pumps with ankle strap. They are so damn beautiful! I have to say however, that after trying on the Aldo Mitena heels in the store, they are really flattering on the foot! I'm stalking them and they will be mine as soon as they go on sale! And of course, who can say no to those MK beauties!

Bright Green Scene

During this past weekend's little trip to Quebec City, I picked up these hella bright green Gap cropped pants thinking it would brighten up my closet a little. That it did! I decided to pair them with a simple short-sleeve blouse in these pictures, but these pants pretty much go with most of my closet! I love it when that happens! I can already see myself wearing it with a crisp blouse, a grey v-neck tee, a chambray blouse (if I ever find one I like!), a tweed blazer in the fall... the possibilities are endless!

Black & Mint

This shoot was my first experience with a tripod. And man, oh man, it was difficult. It was cold, the sun was playing peek-a-boo with me, and people were giving me strange looks. But all and all, I had so much fun and I'm quite happy with how things turned out. The one advantage of using a tripod is that you can take as many pictures as you want. That way, you're not abusing your significant other or your sister's patience (how many times have I said, "just one more of the shoes please?")

My extra long weekend will be a good one as I will be going on a little trip where, holy crap, there will be a Zara store. I can't wait!

Print Party

As much as I love the look of printed denim, I'm sad to say I only own one pair in my closet. For some reason, every pair I have tried on in store (save a pair from H&M I'm currently stalking) haven't looked great on me. These Paige skinnies however totally float my boat. I love the grey color of them and the muted flowery pattern. Plus, they are so easy to match up with either neutrals or brights!

Also, as a side note, I'm totally in love with these Ivanka Trump pumps. For their towering height, they are surprisingly comfortable!

Oh Happy Saturday

I took these pictures with my sister on a roadtrip last Saturday when it was gorgeous and sunny outside - this Saturday, not so much. It's cold and rainy, but I'm not complaining too much because the trees in my back yard are now more green because of it.

These Banana Republic flats have been my trusty outfit savior for a year now. I've worn them a lot - so much in fact that they are starting to get holes in them! They are the perfect pair of flats to instantly make a simple look more pulled together. I will miss them when they're gone!

The White Summer Dress

Everyone needs a white cotton dress for summer. This is my favorite (and only one!) from my closet. I don't gravitate towards white too much since I tend to spill something on myself every day. So the fact that after these pictures, I went to eat a massive burger at a pub and didn't even stain my dress, should totally impress you. 

Asos is one of my favorite places to shop for cute, but affordable summer dresses. I own a few, and none of them have ever disappointed me in terms of quality. There are a ton skater dresses on their website so if you're looking for that perfect comfortable dress for summer, go take a peek!

There's a story behind this skirt.

I originally found this J Crew beauty at a consignment store. I loved the bright coral and turquoise print so much but there was one major problem with the skirt. It was 7 sizes too big. So what did I do? I went and got it tailored to me!

I'd say I don't regret this one bit, but in a face palm moment this week, I realized the same skirt, in the same pattern, is currently available on the J Crew Factory website. All this hassle, when I could have simply bought it in my size. Sigh. Oh well! At least now it's available to you as well! :)
