Lace Layers

Gap Dress, Joe Fresh Peplum and Sunnies, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Smart Set Necklace, Banana Republic Factory Bracelet, Forever 21 Bangle, Michael Kors Watch, Marc Fisher Booties

The fun thing about having items in your closet that are sheer, is that you can layer them over other items. Truthfully, the dress I'm wearing today has a rip in the sleeve. I was going to ask my mother to repair the tear since it's at the seam, but it has gotten worse, and I'm not sure it's repairable after all. There's no reason why it should still be in my closet, but it is. So when I realized that this dress' sleeves were the perfect length to combine with my lace peplum, I was excited to wear it again, and cover up the tear!

Thank you for reading friends! I'm hoping that the milder weather will bring most posts to this blog. I'd like to start posting 3 times a week if I can when the weather warms up and fingers crossed that warmer weather arrives soon!

Denim on Denim

H&M Sweater and Belt, Forever 21 Bracelet and Necklace, DL 1961 Denim, Old Shirt, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Asos Sunnies, Michael Kors Watch, Marc Fisher Booties

Happy Monday friends! I'm a bit tired this morning because I stayed up to watch the Oscars last night, which in my time zone, ended at 1am. I'm so happy I stayed up and watched them because I was actually impressed with the results. I don't often agree with the Oscars' picks, but I thought everything was well deserved this year! I'm really happy with Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong'o winning. And my pick for best dress? Definitely Lupita - the color of that gown was unexpected, and absolutely perfect against her skintone. What a gorgeous woman!

Hope you all had a great weekend! And now on to the rest of the week!

Soft Pink

Smart Set Blazer and Tassel Necklace, H&M Skirt, Joe Fresh Silk Blouse, Rebecca Minkoff MAB Tote, Joan & David Booties, Michael Kors Darci Watch, Dolce & Gabbana Sunnies

I had my eye on this Joe Fresh blouse for a while - the pastely pink color is perfect, and I was lacking basic blouses from my closet. If you don't know this already, Joe Fresh often has killer sales on their website, and I snagged this beauty for $11. In fact, they also have amazing sales in store - I saw some lovely silk blouses at my local Joe Fresh for $5! None in my size sadly, but I did find two pairs of pants for $5. Their new Spring lineup is looking amazing - I'm obsessed with this skirt, and this striped dress. How sleek is that polo collar?

Lounging

Zara Shirt (still available), Banana Republic Sweater, Old Navy Coated Skinnies, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Aldo Boots, Dolce & Gabbana Sunnies (found at Winners for a cool $40), Michael Kors Watch, H&M Bracelet, BCBGeneration Bangle,

Happy Monday friends! How was your weekend? I spent mine visiting my home town for my friend's birthday and had a blast. But this also means that not much rest was had (partially because of the hockey game - Yay Canada!) and this Monday is particularly difficult. Let's just leave it at that because my brain feels like it's melting ;)

Inspired by... Downton Abbey

Inspired by Downton Abbey

Like many others before me, I've fallen for Downton Abbey. After watching all 4 seasons in 3 weeks, it's safe to say I'm obsessed. Watching the show, I couldn't help but be amazed at the detailing in all the costumes. I've never been one to love vintage wear, but Downton Abbey seriously make the 20s fashion look amazing. Searching for inspiration for this collage, I found a few designers that were inspired by the 20s - Parker, for example, has a lot of flapper-like dresses. And Eugenia Kim's hats that look like they are straight from the 20s. My favorite pieces are the jewels though. J Crew has a few 20s style jewels that have my heart - art deco necklace, you will be mine!

Are you a fan of Downton Abbey? What's your opinion on 20s fashion? Aye or nay?

Color Theory

Old Navy Sweater, Madewell Skirt, Joan & David Boots, Rebecca Minkoff MAB Bag, Banana Republic and Smart Set Bracelets, H&M Necklace, Michael Kors Darci Watch, Asos Sunnies

Getting through this last stretch of winter, I've been trying to add some color to my looks in order to prepare for Spring. Or you know, just to generally pretend it isn't winter. This bright lime green sweater is such a fun shade! And I love that the knit is light enough to be a transition piece into Spring.

Tartan and Dots

Old Navy Coat, Joe Fresh Blouse, J Brand Denim, Smart Set Scarf, Aldo Pumps, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Michael Kors Watch, Banana Republic Factory Bracelet, Gorjana Ring, House of Harlow Sunnies

Happy Monday! I realized this morning that Roll Up The Rim is BACK at Tim Horton's. Yay! I don't love Tim Horton's that much, but Roll Up the Rim is the shit! And this year, there's two places on your cup to roll up! I know I'm a little over-excited about this, but it's Monday morning, I'll take any excitement I can get.

This Smart Set tartan scarf has served me so well this fall/winter. I've worn it a ton, and I've been loving pairing it up with other prints like in today's post. I'll almost be sad to say goodbye to it when the weather warms up. Notice that I said almost, because I won't be sorry at all when all this snow is gone! We got another 30 cm of snow this weekend and there's nowhere to put it!

This is a very Canadian post - Tim Hortons, snow, centimeters! 'Tis who I am, my friends!

P.S. A quick thanks to Kate who keeps rocking it in the picture department!
