Night Owl

Dress - Gap, Pumps - ASOS (still available!!), Bag - Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC, Sunnies - Ray-Ban, Watch - Michael Kors Darci Glitz, Bangles - Vintage, House of Harlow, Bracelet - H&M, Lips - Revlon Red Velvet

Confession: I'm a frowner. Seriously, I had to make a conscious effort not to frown in any of these pictures. How many times did my sister call me out - "Annick, you're frowning again" to tell me the same thing again, ten seconds later. You see, I think it's just the natural state of my face. No matter how happy I am, I have this eyebrow frown happening. Every time I listen attentively to someone, I frown. Confused? Tired? Concentrated? Excited? I frown. I'm at the age too where I'm starting to think that if I keep it up, I'll get me some serious wrinkles between the brows! So there, if you catch me frowning (like I am in a couple of these) call me out, so that I can keep my face wrinkle free!

This look is a perfect example of what I'd wear out. I'm not too big on the whole tight & short look for going out, and usually like to keep it simple with a loose fitting dress, serious arm bling, and killer heels. And these ASOS pumps are indeed my definition of killer pumps because they are GORGEOUS. At a reasonable $53.82, they are definitely a statement shoe worth the price. And pretty comfortable too for a 4.5" heel!

Thanks to my photog-in-chief sister for these pictures!

  1. LOL Annick - I am the same way. I noticed that my "natural" face looks so bored and disinterested - when really it's not that case! But, we work with what we got ;)

The first thing I noticed when I saw this was those stellar heels. I just LOVE them. They are perfect to wear for a girls night out!! xo

  2. I love how you paired the bright heels with the black dress. Very chic!

  3. Haha I'm a frowner too. Don't you hate when people tell you to smile? My aunt even emailed me telling me to smile in my blog pictures lol. I love love the ASOS shoes! They're such a pretty and unique print.

  5. The heels really make the outfit!

  6. I'm a frowner too...If I could magic my eyebrows 'up' a bit so I'm not constantly glaring at people then I would do! I love the black dress with bright shoes - it's exactly how I would wear a really bright heel (if I dared).

  7. I like your frown - it's very mysterious and sexy. Plus I think this dress calls for a little sexy and! The dress looks awesome on your by the way it looks awesome on you. I'm also ga-ga over those shoes! So darling.

  8. I found your darling blog from Amy's Link Up Friday! Love your style, you have a new follower!!

    1. Thank you McKenna! I'll be sure to check out your blog! :)

  9. Those shoes are uh-mazing and so. Much. Fun!!!
And I can relate to your frowny face. When I try not to smile in photos, I have this weird crooked smirk. That's why normally I'm smiling in my pics because otherwise I look super confused and mischievous at the same time! I think I'd take your "frown" over that!

  10. Great shoes. It all gets down to the shoes in the end ;)

  11. Those shoes ... BRILLIANT!! You look stunning, lady.
