The Patterned Skirt

Top - H&M (recent and available in other colors!), Skirt - J Crew, but available on J Crew Factory here, Bag - Rebecca Minkoff MAC mini, Shoes - Sam Edelman Opal Pumps (available here), Sunnies - Joe Fresh, Leaf Bracelet - H&M (recent), Twist Ring - Etsy (here), Stella & Dot Avalon Necklace

There's a story behind this skirt.

I originally found this J Crew beauty at a consignment store. I loved the bright coral and turquoise print so much but there was one major problem with the skirt. It was 7 sizes too big. So what did I do? I went and got it tailored to me!

I'd say I don't regret this one bit, but in a face palm moment this week, I realized the same skirt, in the same pattern, is currently available on the J Crew Factory website. All this hassle, when I could have simply bought it in my size. Sigh. Oh well! At least now it's available to you as well! :)

Have a great end of the weekend!

  2. That skirt is so cute!! Even if you had just bought it off of the website in your size, it wouldn't have been tailored exactly for you.

  8. I love that you're fashion blogging now, Annick - it's so fun to see someone's style, especially if you've known them for a while through their blog... I feel like I'm learning about a whole new side of you by seeing what you wear :) As for this skirt, it's lovely, and I admire you for actually buying it too big and getting it tailored - I'm much too lazy for anything like that! It's a shame it later turned up on the J. Crew Factory website, but your tailored version probably fits you better :)

  9. Beautiful skirt! At least it is tailored to fit you perfectly now. The white shirt was a great choice to pair with the skirt. Heather

  11. LOVE this skirt! I never thought I'd be into pencil skirts again (after leaving the corporate world) but they are growing on me every day. And yes, you do need a pair of white skinnies... I can't stop wearing them. The only problem is they get dirty SO fast!

    1. Thanks for visiting Ashley! Haha, I get the feeling that as soon as I get a pair of white skinnies, I'll drop ketchup on them! But I'm sure they're worth it! :)
