Grey on Grey

Asos Dress, Aldo Pumps, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Michael Kors Watch, Joe Fresh Sunnies, BaubleBar Necklace

I almost didn't post these pictures because I guess I'm incredibly OCD. My necklace is hanging weirdly to one side and it's driving me craaaazy. I never really feel like I have an obsessive personality until moments like these happen and I'm like woah, who am I? Geesh!

Perfection is overrated anyway. I think us bloggers strive for perfection, but isn't it better to portray something closer to reality? My necklace is crooked most days, deal with it.

White Eyelet

Old Navy Dress, Forever 21 Shoes & Necklace, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Winners Bangle, Michael Kors Watch,  c/o Polette Sunnies

Good morning! I'm not sure what's up with my love affair with white, but that's all I've been wanting to wear lately. This dress in particular has been worn on so many road trips this summer because it's so dang comfortable! Old Navy is hard to beat when it comes to basic summer dresses.

Hope you're having a good week friends!

Soft Dots

Gap Denim, J Crew Top, Elizabeth & James pumps, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Michael Kors Watch, D&G Sunnies, BaubleBar, Vintage and Etsy rings, Forever 21 Necklace

My mom emailed me last week asking why I wasn't wearing my engagement ring in my blog pictures. This is the last set of pictures I took before getting engaged, so the next posts will have it present, don't you worry ma.

The idea of polka-dots jeans isn't necessarily appealing to me - it reminds me of kids clothes! But these jeans have some distressing which I think is why I love them so much. They're a bit edgy, and unexpected. Unfortunately, they are also hella tight and I can only wear them on good days. I try to buy my skinny jeans relatively tight so that I don't encounter any bagginess around the bum and knees come mid-day, but that comes at a price when you put them on in the morning! Anybody with me here?

Happy Monday everyone!

Lady in White

Vila Dress via Asos, Aldo Shoes, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, Ray-Ban Sunnies, Michael Kors Watch

I only realized how minimal this look is when I typed in what I was wearing above - seems like so few items for me! However, I think that the dress stands out on its own - the eyelet details, the tent shape, and the crisp white color drew me to it. It's so flowy, comfortable and on those hot summer days, refreshing. Yesterday was so warm! I got home after an unpleasant bike ride in the heat/humidity combo from hell, took a shower, met a friend for drinks, and did not stop sweating until I went to bed. I was probably still sweating when I was sleeping. Gah, this humidity!

Seeing Red

Zara Dress, Aldo Pumps, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, BaubleBar Necklace, Michael Kors Watch, D&G Sunnies

Strangely enough, given the size of my closet, I don't own much red! I love the color and I think it goes well with my complexion, but I never gravitate towards it. So when this little Zara number fit perfectly, I thought it would add a great splash of color to my wardrobe. It's so comfortable and super easy to dress up with pumps, or dress down with sandals. I think it might still be in the Zara sale too!

A Special Day Trip

Old Navy Top, AE denim shorts, Gap Sandals, Ray-Ban Sunnies, Smart Set Necklace, Michael Kors Watch, Rebecca Minkoff Bag

I kind of feel silly posting about outfit pictures today - I originally planned to take blog photos on my Saturday day trip to St. Andrews to post on here by the end of the week, but something else happened that day. In case you haven't seen the happy news on my Instagram, my love and I are engaged! I thought that instead of making this post outfit-centric, I'd share some pictures from our day.

My sweetheart planned a beautiful day in St. Andrews, a town only a few hours from where we live. It's best known for being by the sea (often going by St. Andrews-by-the-sea), with loads of little boutiques and gorgeous scenery. The main event of the day was whale watching aboard a tall ship. It was absolutely amazing. We were lucky enough to spot minke whales, porpoises and a few seals. The ship crew was great, and we made friends with a few of the passengers - it's funny how 4 hours on a ship will get you talking with strangers. In fact, my fella mentioned to quite a few of the passengers he was planning on proposing right after! A few of the kids were dressed as pirates and were able to touch sea creatures that the crew had captured  that morning (and released the day after). You can't see it but the little girl dressed in a pirate costume is holding a sand dollar.

It makes me laugh that before boarding the ship, I saw a wedding party in which the bride was wearing the most gorgeous wedding dress. I swear I wasn't trying to creep them by snapping this picture, I just wanted to pin this dress! Little did I know, I was about to be proposed to in a few hours...

I cannot wait to marry my best friend. Anyone else think it would be absolutely hilarious if we hyphenated our names to Blizzard-Noël? I'm tempted! Thanks to all the people who congratulated us on Instagram. We're so happy to be moving towards this next step in our lives together!

Nautical

H&M White Denim, Banana Republic Top & Necklace, Michael Kors Watch & Pumps, Winners Bangle, Ray-Ban Sunnies, J Crew Bag

What is it about the combo of white, navy and red that makes a look feel so nautical? I'm not sure, but I love it! I've always been a little hesitant to add too much navy into my closet because I own so much black, but lately I've been loving it! I've even invested in a navy blazer which I can't wait to pair with a flowy skirt. What's your opinion on navy? Love it or leave it?

Neutral Tones

Asos Dress, Aldo Pumps, J Crew Bag, BaubleBar Earrings, Michael Kors Watch, D&G Sunnies

Good morning! After a glorious weekend full of sun, friends and beer, it's been more than a little hard to return to work on Monday morning. Hence the lack of post yesterday - I was exhausted! But today, I wanted to share a simple summer look with you - a printed dress, and neutral accessories. Since summer has settled in, I've been wanting to simplify everything - I seem to be wearing less accessories, and a lot less layers! And more often than not, I'll pick a dress to wear to work in the morning, simply because there is no matching required. I'm not sure if it's laziness, or the summer heat, but I'm loving it!
