Mind Shift

Shift Dress - Old Navy (recent!), Shoes - Shoemint, Bag - Rebecca Minkoff, Watch - Michael Kors, Bracelet - Asos, Necklace - Forever21

I usually try to stay away from shift dresses, but I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's the old school notion that clothes should be giving you a shape that's stuck in my head? But when I saw this gorgeous Old Navy dress, I just couldn't resist the print. It's fun, vibrant, and unlike anything I own in my closet. I've worn this with my white Zara blazer and it's the perfect work-to-night look. I can totally see it transitioning into fall by wearing it with black tights and booties - and maybe a leather jacket, if I find one!

Hope you all have a great day!

Boyfriend Jean

Boyfriend Jeans - Gap, Lime Green Tank - Smart Set, Lace Top - Aerie, Blazer - BB Dakota, Shoes - Marc Fisher, Bag - Rebecca Minkoff, Bangle - Garbo, Watch - Michael Kors Darci, Sunnies - Joe Fresh, Nails - OPI My First Knockwurst

Happy Monday! Today's post features my one and only pair of boyfriend jeans ... and boy do I love them! They are the most comfortable pair of jeans I own (for obvious "baggy" reasons) and they seem to have to ability to be paired up with almost anything. Here, I decided to dress them up a tiny bit with lace, and midi leopard print heels.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was half raining and half sunny so I took advantage of the sunny day and went to the beach! Nothing better than a Sunday afternoon, lounging in the sun!

Dressed Up Denim

Denim - DL1961, Blouse - H&M, Pumps - Ivanka Trump, Bag - J Crew,  Belt - AE, Sunnies - Forever 21, Bracelet - T&J Designs, Necklaces - Simons, Stella & Dot, Nails - OPI Strawberry Margarita

I love dressing up a pair of dark denim up - and these DL1961 jeans are the perfect pair for it. In fact, they are the perfect pair of jeans to dress up or down (like I did here), making them, essentially, perfect. Have I said perfect too much? Can I also just point out how perfect this little H&M blouse is for summer? At only $12, the neon polka dots are absolutely perfect to pair with distressed denim shorts! Every woman in my family actually owns a version of this little sleeveless blouse! It's so funny how my mother, sister and I influence each other's closets.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've been going through comments and looking at everyone's blog, no exceptions! And there are some amazing ones out there! Thanks gals for leaving me such sweet comments!

Summer Skirt

Sweater - American Eagle, Skirt - Madewell (on sale!), Bag - Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini, Watch - Michael Kors, Bangle - House of Harlow, Sandals - Franco Sarto, Sunnies - Ray-Ban, Necklace - Stella & Dot

I randomly saw this Madewell skirt in a youtube video and instantly fell in love so I patiently waited for it to go on sale and purchased it on Shopbop a few weeks ago. My closet isn't full of fit and flare skirts, skater type skirts: in fact, I barely own any. Maybe it's because of my more voluptuous behind (aka, bubble butt!), but I've always felt like these types of skirts did not fit my body type. But the print in this Madewell skirt totally spoke to me and I knew it would fit right in my closet. And you know what? I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm loving the fit and flare on me! It's so comfortable, and no need to worry about a bloated stomach showing like it does with a pencil skirt! Plus, this skirt is made out of a breathable cotton which is great for those hot summer days.

Hope you're all having a good week! Kind of wishing the sun would come out, even if I can't see it from my office!

Thanks Kate for the pictures, once again! ;)

Bright & Colorful

Top - vintage (from local boutique), Skirt - J Crew, Bag - Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini, Necklaces - Smart Set and H&M, Bangles - Vince Camuto (gifted by Envy) and Joe Fresh, Sunnies - Ray Ban, Shoes - Oasis via ASOS, Nail - OPI Strawberry Margarita

My closet isn't really full of color. I love color, but I tend to be be most comfortable in neutrals. I don't know what happened to me that day, but I just wanted to wear something bright and fun. It kind of makes me feel like I'm on vacation! Sadly, I'm not on vacation so I'm doing my best to soak up the sun as much as I can on the weekends! What are your favorite outside summer activities? I just got a bike (a lovely hand-me-down) and the boy and I are trying to get some tennis in here and there. I'm making it my summer goal to go kayaking a few times and hiking.

Hope your weekend was great and I'm wishing you all a good week!

Ombré

Dress - Asos, Blazer - Vero Moda, Bag - Marc Jacobs, Shoes - Shoemint, Watch - Michael Kors, Bracelet - H&M, Necklace - Stella & Dot, Sunnies - Joe Fresh

I love ombré! When I saw this blazer, I knew it begged to be paired up with a white summery dress, or some denim shorts and a bright tee. It has a loose boyfriend cut, so it's perfect to dress down a look!

The weekend is almost here and I can hardly wait. My friend is visiting and we're planning loads of drinks on patios, tubing, the beach, and BBQ food! Now if the weather could cooperate...

What do you think of ombré? Still loving it, or kind of over it?

Free People Love

Dress - Free People, Shoes - Pour La Victoire, Bag - Gryson, Sunnies - Asos, Bangle - Vince Camuto (c/o Envy), Bracelet - H&M, Watch - Michael Kors

I'm such a sucker for a black dress. This Free People dress totally spoke to me when I tried it on last week - I love the cut out detailing, the knee length of it and the material of it is soft and comfortable. Ever since buying this dress, I've been literally stalking ALL the Free People dresses on Shopbop. It's refreshing change up what you usually gravitate towards with a more boho piece!

Thanks to my sistah for taking these pictures in the sweltering heat!

Black & Yellow

Dress - Mexx, Shoes - Shoemint, Necklace- Olive & Piper, Sunnies - Joe Fresh, Bag - Marc Jacobs, Watch - Michael Kors, Bracelet - H&M

I seem to be wearing these Shoemint beauties in every post, but that's simply because they are the most perfect summer shoe! They go with everything since they are such a neutral color, and they're super comfortable! I was lucky enough to win them in a giveaway and I'm so happy with my choice.

Anybody else spend their weekend in the sun? Considering how pale I am, I only got a slight sunburn with SPF 45. But the fun part is, I'm actually starting to tan! Yay!

Happy Monday everyone!

Something Old, Something New

Tank - Gap, Skirt - J Crew, Shoes - Shoemint, Sunnies - Forever 21, Bangle - Orelia via Asos, Necklaces - Envy, Simons, Bag - Marc Jacobs (via Simons)

About a week ago, I went on an impromptu trip to Ottawa and Quebec City. I met up with a friend who was driving back from out west in Ottawa, and we made our way back home to the east coat by stopping and visiting friends on the way. I think there's something special about a last minute trip - no anxiety, no planning. I loved winging it! I had only been to Ottawa once for work, so I got to see the city a little better this time. And on Canada Day!

I only bought one thing on my trip and it is the Marc Jacobs bag in this post. This little gem was reduced from $800 to $100! I love that it's a pop of color and quite unique. And I'm surprised at how versatile it is. I've worn it to work for the past few days and found it pretty much goes with anything! If you live nears a Simons, check out their designer bags section (if that's your thang). I saw a Phillip Lim 31 Hour Bag (this) for $400! It was quite a steal, but way out of my price range.

Happy mid-week slump! Anyone else feel like it's Friday?
